On Saturday, 13 November, Cemix joined with Cancer Support Services to provide PSA Screenings for men across Barbados.
From 10am to 1pm, a steady flow of eager gentlemen passed through the Dayrells Road office where they were able to speak to a nurse and receive a PSA test. With a donation by Cemix to Cancer Support Services, fifty (50) men received their tests for free.
The PSA test is a blood test used primarily to screen for prostate cancer. The test measures the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. PSA is a protein produced by both cancerous and noncancerous tissue in the prostate, a small gland that sits below the bladder in males.
